Lynch IEI was founded in 1995 with a clear vision: to deliver exceptional electrical solutions to the construction and rail industries. From the start, we built a reputation for excellence in commercial and industrial installations, particularly in construction and rail.
Today, nearly 30 years later, we’re a leading medium-sized contractor on the London Underground, delivering integrated Electrical, Mechanical, and Fire services that keep critical infrastructure running safely and efficiently.
With one of the most experienced teams in the rail industry, we’ve worked on nearly all of 270 Undergound stations-handling everything from minor repairs and full-scale refurbishments. Whenever there’s a challenge, we deliver.

Our experienced mechanical and public health engineering team delivers tailored solutions across all facets of HVAC and public health systems for both commercial and industrial environments. We provide comprehensive design, installation, and maintenance solutions tailored to client needs. Our capabilities include, but are not limited to:
Our Fire Engineering Services division provide a comprehensive range of fire safety services including Fire Alarm and Detection and Suppression systems. We provide a turnkey solution offering a comprehensive, all-inclusive approach to fire safety solutions, where we handle all aspects from design and installation to maintenance and ongoing support. In this case study, we were responsible for the design of the fire alarm and detection, automatic sprinkler and dry riser systems which involved 3D BIM modelling and co-ordination with other services and systems followed by the installation, testing and commissioning and interim planned, preventive maintenance prior to these systems being brought into beneficial use.
We take pride in delivering high-quality engineering solutions. Browse our recent projects and discover the impact we make across the construction and rail industries.
Upgrade Fire Detection & Suppression
Our team was responsible for the design, installation, testing, and commissioning of advanced fire detection and suppression systems at LUL Bank Station.
The scope of works included: Design, supply, install, test and commissioning of a new Fire Alarm and Detection system for the Whole Block, Northern Line Platform Level, Central Line Link and DLR Platforms. Four Networked, 4 loop Node Panels, 490 devices. Swithlands Concept Design developed to Construction Stage. New System successfully integrated in to existing Station Fire Alarm System to form a ten Networked Node Panel System. Value Engineering–Proposed and implemented the replacement of existing, obsolete Kentec Syncro Panels with AELMxPro5 Panels during the project.
Canning Town Station
As part of the Escalator Replacement Project, the existing life expired Linear Heat Detection system and Escalator Water Suppression System (EWSS) were replaced.
Lynch designed, installed tested and commissioned a new multi-sensor point detection system within the Upper & Lower machine pits to replace the Linear Heat Detection system along with new conventional wet sprinkler system to replace the EWSS system on Escalators 1&2 and 3&4.
Elephant & Castle
Our team was responsible for design and installation of new vent shaft Electrical, PAVA & Fire Detection fit out, FIRE ENGINEERING, ELECTRICAL, new MEP and Comms services.
The services that have been requested to extend/provide into the new vent access shaft are:
(LU) LV power. Communications PAVA. Radio coverage. Fire detection/alarm. Lighting/emergency lighting. Extend the dry dropper up to new ground level.
Finsbury Park Station
Lynch IEI has been appointed as a Principle contractor to carry out full design and install to new Western Station Entrance.

Grenfell Tower
Lynch IEI proudly took part in BBC SOS program and donated electrical equipment and services to help fit-out new Grenfell Tower Boxing Club – a vital project aimed at healing and rebuilding after the tragic events of the Grenfell Tower fire.
Old Street Station
Lynch IEI successfully delivered a comprehensive fire detection system upgrade at Old Street Station as part of a wider initiative to enhance passenger safety and ensure compliance with updated London Underground standards.
The scope of work included:
Design, supply, install, test and commissioning of a new Fire Alarm and Detection system. Three Networked 4 loop Node Panels, 270 devices. WSP Concept Design developed to Construction Stage. Fire Alarm design was 3D BIM modelled–increased collaboration, co-ordination and visualization. New System successfully integrated in to existing Station Fire Alarm System to form a 5 Networked Node Panel System. Commissioning & Integration. Plan was developed to provide assurance that the system can be integrated without delay and operational inconvenience to public/passengers. Flexibility to changes in design due to issues with the existing structure and changing stake holder requirement.
Tottenham Hale Station
Lynch IEI has been appointed as a sub-contractor to carry out electrical, mechanical and comms fit out.
This included:
Installation of primary CRMS throughout station for all services (electrical, comms and fire). Installation of secondary CRMS. Installation and design of new lighting DALI system. Installation of new OLBI supply. Installation of new HVAC system including fire dampers. Installation of new above ground drainage. Installation of new PAVA and CCTV systems. Installation of new MICA system.
The biggest challenge to the project was integration with existing stations systems while station was sill operational and open to the public at its full capacit.
West One Oxford Street
Lynch IEI has delivered laser scanning of the West One building and modelled existing MEP services. The main challenge was the amount of dead and live services. MEP services were surveyed and Tag & Trace reports produced.
